Midlands Together… One year (ish) on…

Charlotte | 20 January 2015

A wonderful email appeared in my inbox this morning, from Richard Nicol of Midlands Together.

Richard was managing the conversion of the house in Worcester that we filmed in November. We interviewed him as part of the Ignite fund's first case study, which you can view here.

Midlands Together were the first organisation to be supported by Centrica’s Ignite fund launched last year. As an organisation they give opportunities to ex-offenders to work on commercial and residential building projects.

Today, he sent through some pictures of the house in its near complete state as it goes on the market this morning. What a transformation! See the before and after pics below.

It was a delight to meet Richard and the rest of the Midlands Together team when we filmed them last year and its even more fantastic to hear that 3 further projects are on the go for this year. In total they’ve now created sixteen jobs and all those involved are doing great things to further their careers. One has even gained a permanent position with a partnered building firm.

We wish Midlands Together all the best in their excellent work in the future. With the support of a great team and the Ignite fund we are sure they will go from strength to strength in 2015!
